Royale Chulan The Curve, Petaling Jaya

Upon checking in for our big family vacation, we noticed a smell of cigarette in the rooms which required us to spray with perfume. The hotel offers easy access to malls and retail shops, making it a convenient choice for our stay. While the dining options were not as varied, the facilities were top-notch and the service was warm and welcoming.

The room my wife and I stayed in was comfortable and well laid out, but we had to wait for two hours upon arrival. Surprisingly, it turned out to be a smoking room, which we didn't remember being asked about during booking. The hotel location is awesome, right within the Curve shopping mall and opposite IKEA, meeting all my requirements within a short walking distance, though I did notice some paint specs in the bathroom on the drinking glass and shaving mirror. Overall, the stay offered a good experience with a few minor inconveniences.

I was excited for a high floor and non-smoking room but ended up on the third floor with heavy smoke smell lingering. The bed had some leftover papers and dirty spots on the sheets. However, the room had a king and two single beds at a great deal, close to The Curve, IKEA, and IPC Mall.

The hotel offers a strategic location near popular attractions and shopping areas. While the rooms are in need of repairs and lack complimentary parking, the location is convenient for both leisure and shopping. The dining options are satisfactory but may not fully meet expectations, and the service could be more attentive and accommodating.

The hotel’s location is perfect for enjoying shopping at Ikea and nearby dining options. However, the rooms need renovations and were not ready for check-in on time. Service lacked manners at the front counter and during breakfast, but staff were willing to serve drinks late. The strategic location near popular shopping areas is a plus, but may not be ideal for families with small kids. Dining was subpar except for the delicious Sicilian pastries.
